It's surprisingly easy. They send you a return label with your order. You just collect a few empties and send them back. I think you get a little credit for it too.

I've used both and RRR is definitely more focused on the eco-friendly side with the returnable containers. Performance-wise, I think they're pretty comparable for basic stuff like body wash and shampoo. If you're into the zero-waste thing, RRR wins.
